Trinity Lutheran Church is a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America (ELCA). The ELCA has 10,549 congregations and over 4.8 million members which are divided into 65 synods. Trinity is part of the South Dakota Synod.
Trinity was founded in 1887 by Norwegian settlers who met in various homes until the first church was built in 1900. The present sanctuary was built in 1920 and has seen several additions over the years.
Currently, an average of 300 people worship at Trinity each week and over 200 children participate in Sunday School each school year. The congregation is divided into 13 service groups or “families” that take turns serving coffee on Sunday mornings and assisting with funerals. Four committees/boards govern the congregation, including the Executive Committee, Board of Education, Board of Trustees and Board of Deacons. Council meetings are held the second Tuesday of every month, except July and are open to all members of the congregation.
Trinity invites you to attend one of our worship services or activities. If you are interested in joining, please contact the office.
We practice open communion at Trinity. Anyone who believes in the real presence of Jesus body and blood in the bread and wine, and is repentant of their sins is invited and welcome to commune. The Lord has prepared this meal for you.
