VOICE OF THE MARTYRS
Christian persecution and martyrdom is a little talked about atrocity happening
throughout the world today. Christians suffer torture, death and persecution around the
world.
Voice of the Martyrs (VOM) is a ministry that serves persecuted Christians in over
60 restricted or hostile nations around the globe including Iran, Syria, North Korea and
parts of Africa and Asia. VOM provides basic physical assistance like food, shelter and
spiritual support for families impoverished by abuse because of their faith in Jesus Christ
During the Month of March, please consider a financial gift to assist our brothers
and sisters and those serving them around the globes who are suffering for their faith in
the name of Jesus.

Lenten Book Study
Is your plate too full already to take on yet another commitment? – I get that!
That’s why I would like to invite you to join me for my Facebook live Lenten Book
Study. My schedule is crazy too. But I’ll try to be live every Sunday evening around
8:00 pm starting February 18, and you will be able to join me then from the comfort
of your home or wherever you are, or you can watch the episode at another
time that better fits your schedule. In addition, I will be
“live” every morning for just a few minutes to start our
day! More of a traditionalist? Join me on Thursdays
at 11:30 am, starting February 15, in the Fireside
Room at Trinity. The book is called
“Easter Earthquake” by James Harnish.

teer sign ups are available in the Narthex on the information table.
Greeters, lectors, communion assistants, ushers, as well as commun-
ion set-up positions are available. Please call the church office at 256-

Spring Theme
Basket Raffle
April 1, 2018-“Spring Theme Basket Raffle”. We will display our
“Theme Baskets” on March 18, March 25, and April 1, 2018 in the
Narthex. Raffle tickets are $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00. We will be
drawing names on Sunday, April 1, 2018 at the end of the Easter
Breakfast.
Personal Care Kit bags are now available in the narthex on Sunday mornings and in the
church office during the week. Take one home, fill it with items on the attached list and return
to the "Lutheran World Relief" bin in the narthex by Sunday, September 9. If you prefer not to
shop and would rather make a donation, that works too! Kits are valued at $10 each. For
more information, please check the bulletin board in the Fellowship Hall near the kitch-
en. Thank you!
